🌱 Meet Jhanna
Jhanna Althea, affectionately known as “Bolanday,” is a bright and kind-hearted six-year-old living in San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal with her parents. She is an only child and is growing up in a loving home where she is encouraged, supported, and deeply cherished.
Jhanna is a cheerful and responsible young girl who already shows maturity beyond her years. She is eager to help at home, happily taking on simple chores such as washing the dishes, and she enjoys being involved in church activities. Her parents’ love, guidance, and values are clearly reflected in her character, which is marked by kindness, independence, and a positive outlook on life.
She is also an excellent student with a genuine love of learning. Jhanna has consistently done very well at school, earning Outstanding Student recognition from Nursery through to Kindergarten. Most recently, she achieved a final grade of 93% and received several special awards, including Best in English, Graceful Dancer Award, and Batang Maasahan Award. She enjoys taking part in school activities such as quiz bees and dance competitions, and she is looking forward to beginning elementary school with excitement and determination. One day, Jhanna hopes to become a professional chef.
Jhanna’s father works hard as a construction worker to provide for the family, while her mother manages the home and cares for her full-time. To help make ends meet, her mother also takes on small business activities and occasional babysitting when possible. Although the family works hard and provides a stable, nurturing home, their income is limited, and the cost of supporting Jhanna’s continued education is a real challenge.
💛 Why Your Support Matters
Jhanna is a little girl with clear ability, strong character, and great promise. She has already shown that she is eager to learn, willing to work hard, and ready to make the most of every opportunity given to her. But for families facing financial pressure, even a child as capable and motivated as Jhanna can find those opportunities harder to reach.
By sponsoring a child like Jhanna, you can help provide:
Support for her continued education
School materials and learning essentials
Encouragement and stability as she begins elementary school
Ongoing care and opportunity through the Grapevine programme
Your sponsorship is not only practical support. It is an investment in a child who is already showing such promise. It helps ease the burden on her family and gives Jhanna the chance to keep learning, growing, and moving towards the future she dreams of.
For Jhanna, your support could make a lasting difference.

Sofhia Mae
Sofhia Mae
Programme: Cashew Tree - 2026
Born: 23rd May 2022 (Age 4)
Location: Sitio Upper Pintor Bgy. San Isidro Rodriguez Rizal Philippines
Level: Nursery
Sponsorship Needed: £20 per month
Status: Seeking sponsor
Meet Sofhia Mae
Sofhia Mae known as “Sofhia,” is a lively and affectionate four-year-old living with her parents and younger brother in Sitio Upper Pintor, Rodriguez, Rizal. Her family lives in a simple home made from wood and light materials, with limited access to electricity and everyday household facilities. Despite these difficulties, Sofhia is growing up surrounded by love, encouragement, and parents who are committed to giving their children the best future possible.
Sofhia is naturally talkative, sociable, and expressive. She enjoys writing, dancing, and imaginative play, all of which help build her creativity, confidence, and communication skills. At home, she listens well to her parents and is already developing a sense of responsibility by helping with simple tasks such as sweeping the floor, washing dishes, and tidying household items.
A Promising Start
Although Sofhia has not yet attended formal school, she is already showing encouraging signs of readiness for Nursery. She can:
Recognise the alphabet in sequence
Trace letters
Identify different colours
Count from one to five
Respond positively to guidance and learning activities
These early skills demonstrate Sofhia’s enthusiasm for learning and the strong potential she has to develop further within a safe and structured educational environment.
Why Your Support Matters
Sofhia’s father works as a garbage collector, earning around ₱1,500 each week, although his income is uncertain and depends on the recyclable materials he can collect. Her mother remains at home to care for Sofhia and her younger brother.
The family carefully manages its limited income to provide food, drinking water, and other basic necessities. Electricity is mainly supplied through solar power, but when this is unavailable, they sometimes have to pay to connect to a neighbour’s generator. These difficult circumstances leave little money available for educational materials and early learning opportunities.
By sponsoring a child like Sofhia, you can help provide:
A safe and nurturing early years education
Learning materials and school essentials
Regular structure, guidance, and encouragement
Opportunities to develop her confidence and social skills
Ongoing support through the Cashew programme
Your sponsorship would help Sofhia build the important foundations she needs before entering formal schooling. It would also provide meaningful support to parents who are working hard to protect their children’s wellbeing despite living with considerable financial uncertainty.
Sofhia is an enthusiastic little girl with a willingness to learn and a bright personality. With the right support, she can continue to grow in confidence, develop her abilities, and take her first important steps towards a more hopeful future.
For Sofhia, your kindness could make a lasting difference.

Meet our Students
Below are 16 of the more than 300 children supported through Cashew Tree School and the Grapevine Project who are currently waiting for a sponsor.
Sponsorship is a true blessing for our students. Knowing that someone cares about them, encourages their learning, and celebrates their achievements is just as important as the financial support it provides.
These children, aged between 4 and 16, each have their own stories, hopes, and dreams. With your support, they can look forward to a brighter and more hopeful future.
