My 1st Day at School

On the first day at school children everywhere, whatever their background, have photos taken by proud parents .
This year the number of pupils has been doubled at Cashew Early Years in Manila. 201 children, mostly aged 4, have just started their long journey of education which we all hope will eventually lead to a better life away from the poverty of the Manila rubbish dumps. First task was for everyone to make a ‘My First Day at School’ hat.
