Typhoon Carina (Gaemi) Update from Manila

Home | Uncategorised | Typhoon Carina (Gaemi) Update from Manila

We thank the Lord for keeping our ASCF Students, their families and ASCF staff safe during yesterday’s bad weather. While our area was not included in the typhoon surge, the monsoon rains brought heavy rainfall. As a result, some areas in Rodriguez were flooded, necessitating the evacuation of residents. Among those affected were some of our Grapevine and Cashew family clients and one of our teachers.

We are grateful to report that everyone is safe, with no casualties, though there was a power interruption lasting more than 10 hours.

In response to the situation, ASCF welcomed some clients and their families to stay at Mango Tree house. Through our Cashew classroom, we provided temporary shelter and food to 42 individuals. Thankfully, they all returned to their homes this morning to begin the cleanup process after the flood.
